Macross F and Sky Crawlers Received Renowed Awards

Macross Frontier and Sky Crawlers won awards from the Digital Media Awards last October 25, media group honors year’s annual achievements.

The Digital Content Association of Japan or DCAJ under Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry established this industry association, and Panasonic President Fumio Otsubo gave awards to Production I.G’s The Sky Crawlers film and Satelight’s Macross Frontier television series at the 23rd Digital Content Grand Prix ceremony on October 25, 2008.

The awards honor the year’s achievements in new media at DCAJ’s annual Digital Creators Convention. The Sky Crawlers received the Award of Excellence, while Shoji Kawamori’s Macross Frontier received the Content Production Staff Award, also other winners include Nintendo’s Wii Fit gaming and home fitness accessory, Apple’s iPhone 3G mobile device, Casio’s High Speed EXILIM EX-F1 digital camera, the Ryuku Cowboy, Yoroshiku Gozaimasu film, and the Tokyo Only Pictures 2008 event.

Sony Pictures has licensed the film for home video release in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America.
