Old Gem: Utawarerumono Impression

Utawarerumono overcomes the beauty of being epic, not to mention, all of the anime I’ve watched this season, this old gem beats the odds of being the best, a fantasy, action, swordplay, scifi genre.

Utawarerumono OVA this coming June 5, 2009

Utawarerumono is perhaps the title of a series about a fictional world in the style of feudal Japan.

For my impression within the series, I can’t believe the hype of this manga adapted series, an anime adaptation of H-game by Leaf/AQUAPLUS.

In the beginning of the story, the story seems pretty slow but when the story progresses it tends to absorb the viewer (me of), it is beyond one’s imagination making it epic. The story wasn’t the applausing from the start but it has lot of sense, I can say that I’d like to sleep for the first episode, but it will never put you to sleep, scripts are better, voice acting is at excellent, chemistry between character and VA’s are excellent.

Fighting concepts are rather strong, characters are well done, cute girl protagonists and a great leader, a good example, fantastic rather in decision making, story focuses very well on the characters. Military tactics, and massive battle to acquire peace, a sensible piece of art.

It’s like watching and remembering fighting a war the older times like Genzomaden Saiyuki  which put to me the interest of liking this,  and ‘acclaiming-the-emperor-as-such’. and comparing Samurai 7, they have so much similarities.

Melodramatic scenes and superficial common events like “harsh mercy voices or voices that are being killed” made me scared.

utawarerumono-3There are some cute moments of this series from which I always startle, ’cause of the characters, which I tend be more smiling and making me at lol’d.

Thoroughly and throughout from what I’ve watched from this medium series, backstory was explained in the last episode which come out good, and it’s my first time to see such long-story of the backstory of the event which is well-explained.

All I can say, this is epic, and this is one of the best genre I’ve watched.

Overall: Excellent

    “old gem”
Dude, this anime is barely 3 years old. I know that early teens often call even us 20-somethings “old”, but come on.

“Utawarerumono is perhaps the title of a series about a fictional world”
Um, what ? Perhaps a title ? You’re not sure if its the title or not ? How does an anime without a title even gets to be broadcasted i wonder ?

Dude, the anime was aired last Spring 2006, isn’t it considered old enough to you?

Uhm, Did you read the word “Style of feudalism in Japan”?
    I referred that line here.

Ah, Utaware. I cannot wait for the OVA although the earlier ones were hilarious as it is.

The characters were what made the show special, in my opinion. Because the characters like Touka which I normally dislike became favourites. But there were still many scenes that made me bawl. Even when a minor character died, it was done well enough to do that.

Yes. It’s a very nice anime.
I wonder were there any figmas for this anime?
